The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce’s 17th annual dessert and pie auction will be held October 22 from 5-8 p.m. This is their biggest fundraising event of the year!!! Come out and enjoy an evening full of food, drinks, and “scary fun”. You have the option of buying a table for 6 people for $300, or you can buy an individual ticket for $50. The Kenai Lumberjack Jam that is being held October 1st by the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Buccaneer Alaska will be having some great beer and wine on tap. I’d like to talk today about the companies providing these great beverages for us! Kenai Kassiks Brewery: Kenai’s Kassik’s Brew Stop is located in a small warehouse adjacent to Frank Kassik’s home in Nikiski. Frank’s passion for brewing began when his wife bought him a home brew kit for Christmas. Frank loved it and soon became an excellent home brewer. Come out October 8 to the Red Diamond Center on K-Beach Road for the Amvets Oktoberfest! The Amvets Ladies Auxiliary and Amvets Post 4 will be hosting! There will be a delicious German dinner that will start at 6 p.m. Enjoy an auction, door prizes, contests and a chicken dance. Soldotna’s Montessori School will be hosting a fundraiser October 7 from 6-9 p.m. Come support all of the Model United Nation members by participating in all of the activities provided! There will be split-the-pot, desserts for auction, silent auction, and dancing! You and your family will be entertained by “The Half Baked Alaskans” musical group.
