The Alaska State Fair starts next week on Thursday, August 25th and ends Monday, September 5th.The Alaska State Fair is home to record-setting giant vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. If you are wanting to save on admissions prices then make sure to buy your tickets now! If you purchase your admissions tickets before August 25th for Monday-Thursday then adults get in for $9 and youth/seniors get in for just $5. When purchased in advance, tickets for Friday-Sunday are $11 per adult and $6 per youth/senior. If you do not purchase tickets in advance, it costs $11 per adults and $7 per youth/senior for Monday-Thurday and tickets for Friday-Sunday are $13 per adult and $8 per youth/senior. The fair is open from noon to 10 pm on weekdays and open from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends. On Labor Day the fair is open from 10 am to 8 pm. The fairgrounds are located at 2075 Glenn Hwy., Palmer, AK 99654.
Once into the state fair there is a lot of great activities that com free with admissions. Visitors can experience the great fireworks, fire batons, bmx stunt show, lumberjack show, kids zone, farm exhibits, Alaska’s Got Talent finals, stand-up comedy, and much more. If you are interested in taking part of any contests, you have plenty to choose from! Some of the contests are: a karaoke contest, beard contest, scarecrow contest, a text messaging contest, the list goes on!
The Alaska State Fair has a great AT&T Concert Series for visitors to enjoy. Tickets can still be purchased online if you are interested in going to a show. In order of appearance, guests will be able to enjoy Queensryche, Chevelle, Craig Morgan, Garrison Keillor, Foghat, Charlie Daniels, Rat Pack Renue, Uncle Kracker, Staind, Gabriel Iglesias, OneRepublic and Colbie Caillat.
