Every year, there are two major things that Alaskans file for, the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend and federal income taxes.

As you are filing for your federal income tax this year,  Joe Moore, a Certified Public Accountant with Altman Rogers in Soldotna, has some reminders, that are unique to Alaskans…

Moore: “Don’t forget to report it, because it’s taxable. If you have children that all they received was the PFD, and they’re under the age of 17, the parents can report that dividend on their tax return, which saves them an extra tax return filing for the kids, that’s a good thing to do.”

The deadline for filing for federal income taxes is April 15th.

Moore can be reached 262-7478 for help with taxes.
