Calling all females! The Sterling Judo Club will be conducting a self-defense class for women and girls at Sterling Elementary School on Wednesday May 21st, 2014. Learn how to defend yourself in life threatening situations involving another person. You will leave feeling confident in your ability to defend yourself and help those around you. This will be a great class for all women, make sure to come! The class is for females ages 8 years old and up.
Your instructor for the class will be Kati Gibler. She holds a blackbelt in judo and competed for many years. She has been a serious student of jujitsu for several years as well. In this 2 hour program, Katie would like to go over why self defense is so important, and what situations lead to the need to physically defend ourselves as women. She will show you different escapes and defenses against people who are attacking you. For this class you are advised to wear loose fit clothing, sweats, shorts, t-shirt, etc.
Class cost is FREE and is definitely worth the time it takes to learn. No prior training or judo registration is needed however you will need to sign a standard waiver & release form. Please arrive early for registration and paperwork. If you would like more information on this class please contact Bob Brink at (907) 242-9330.
